Welcome
Welcome to the website for Rothievale Gundogs, a photographic showcase of our working and field trialling gundogs.
I have always loved dogs and worked as a volunteer at my local dogs home from the age of 13! Rothievale Gundogs was established in 2001 with the purchase of my first gundog Speckle who turned out to be my foundation bitch. Speckle was a totally reliable and honest first dog with a lovely nature. Daughter of the famous FTCh Kenine Robb of Rytex and a fiery FTW Robinsmoor bitch, she introduced me to the world of beating and picking up and gained me many an invite on both commercial shoots and small rough shoots in the West Country.
As part of a breeding agreement when buying Speckle I had a litter from her the following year and was lucky enough to keep a bitch, Sage, who was to be my first competition dog and a huge step from the laid back Speckle!

My Rothievale affix was registered in 2004 when I first started participating in field trials and working tests after moving to Scotland. The 'team' has somewhat expanded and I am now the proud owner of several labradors, springers, cockers and pointers. My aim is to establish a good sound bitch line with drive, intelligence and trainability aswell as good looks and style in both spaniels and labradors.
I am lucky enough to be situated in the heart of the Highlands with an expanse of heather moorland, rashes and woodland to train the dogs. Field trialling is my hobby but I also use the dogs for picking up, beating and rough shooting with grouse work and rabbiting being my favourite dog work. I am a committee member of my local gundog club - The Moray Firth Spaniel and Retriever Club.
Recognised as a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder, pups may sometimes be available from litters bred to satisfy our own requirements. Rothievale gundogs is a non-commercial kennels.
